Norma
Dolle & Marge Babcock, identical twins with twin Victorian B&B
lodges next door to each other in Aspen...
The
Toni Twins
Born in Chicago, as children they had long blond ringlets, dressed
alike, danced and sang. It was the
time of Shirley Temple & Marge and Norma became the original

MGM
Contract
Then the twins were given a screen test and MGM contract. "Our
mother wanted us to go to Hollywood but our father didn't want us
to go and become phonies. We sang on radio shows like the Tom Mc
Neil "Around the breakfast Table Show" and the big State and Lake
Theaters in Chicago. We were friends with the Lee sisters who sang
with Vaughn Munroe & the girl singers with Gene Krupa. They
told us what the lifestyle was like, so decided not to go on the
road."
Switched
Dates
They both went to the University of New Mexico in Albuquerque, majoring
in drama and music, and singing with bands. "We still dressed
alike. We used to switch dates and get away with it." It was
during college that they took some long weekends and came to Aspen
to ski, both falling in love with the town.

Separated
for 20 Years
Then they were separated
for years. "I think all twins want to establish their own identity,"
says Norma. Finally in 1972 Norma moved to Aspen and bought the
Victorian next door to Marge's Lodge and started the Snow Queen
Lodge. Two "Gems" of Aspen History.
We still get together and sing some of our old favorites like "Get
your Kicks on Route 66" and "Small Fry".
